Rugby star Dan Lydiate impressed with his Suzuki KingQuad

Back to news

We caught up recently with Welsh international rugby star, Dan Lydiate, who also has a passion for farming and rides a Suzuki KingQuad 500XP.

Dan’s parents currently run a fifth-generation family farm in Mid-Wales. It’s a 500 acre sheep farm and as you would expect, much of it is very hilly. Dan also has an ever-growing herd of Welsh black cattle, which are his pride and joy.

In order to service the farm, Dan rides his KingQuad, which he has had for just over a year now, every single day. It’s his main work tool on the farm and because the ATV is so versatile, he uses it for a number of different tasks including checking on all the farm stock, utilising the 600kg towing capacity to carry fencing or supplies and also to check on a newly created woodland area.

In praise of the ATV Dan said, “My favourite aspect of the Suzuki KingQuad has got to be the comfort of the ride. The riding position is spot on which means that you don’t have to wrestle with it over rough terrain and when you’ve been on it all day you don’t come off with aches or pains. My mum also finds it easy to ride, which is great.”

Dan continued, “Suzuki have been brilliant and when it came to taking the KingQuad in to our local Dealer, ET James, for a service, the process was so smooth and they even provided a loan quad for the day so that we could carry on with our daily work. Brilliant customer service and aftersales care.”

It is great to hear that Dan and his family team are getting on so well with the KingQuad and when we asked Dan what position the KingQuad would play if it were a rugby player, he replied “I think it would be an open-side flanker. It’s durable, robust, keeps working hard but also has a turn of speed!”
